About

Food that earns its place on a weeknight table.

SavorPress is an independent food publication about savoury home cooking: seasonal produce, preserving, pressure and sheet-pan methods, and the technique behind a well-seasoned dish. We write for cooks with a job, a normal kitchen and no wish to weigh salt at midnight.

Every recipe is cooked at least twice in a home kitchen, in the pan and on the burner most people own, before it is published. We record weights, times, internal temperatures and what we would change. Measurements are given in grams first because cups lie, and every guide names the substitutions we actually tested.

What you will find

  • Weeknight mains: 30 to 45 minute dinners with a short ingredient list and a real flavour path.
  • Preserving, pickling and fermenting: tested brines, safe acidities and labelled timings.
  • Pressure cooker and sheet pan: the two fastest ways to good colour and deep flavour.
  • Ingredient guides: what to buy, what to skip, how to store it so it lasts.
  • Sauces and seasoning: the mother sauces at home, plus salt, acid and fat in plain terms.
  • Batch cooking and freezing: cook once, eat well twice, without soggy results.

How we handle money

Some links are affiliate links and some campaigns are sponsored; both are labelled. Commissions fund the groceries we test with; they do not buy a verdict. Products we buy, borrow and receive are tested on the same terms, and we publish the failures.
